Singing, Sewing and Smiling.

Singing, Sewing and Smiling. BrightStars was a happy school this afternoon. I had more reason than usual to smile and sing.  I am giving thanks today to the universal manager The God of all things seen and unseen for allowing me to see this day.  I had a slight accident last night with a fireball exploding out of my oven door.  Not something I would like to experience every day.  Not quite sure how I came out of it so un marked.
If anyone is actually reading this please remember we are perpetually fund raising ( I must apologise as I know what a burden it seems for charities to be always knocking).  I mention this as  our city2surf team  has a long way to go to reach our target of $10,000.Please support this great project as we want to get the school onto the net and purchase computers, desks and chairs, books and shelves for the library and turn the roof top into a playground with a vegetable garden.  A big project and your $10 or whatever you decide to give us will help greatly and we appreciate it. $10 is better than no dollars and thanks for giving.

Each year 15 students are chosen for the after school music class.  I was so lucky to be there and listen to them rehearse today. Good vibe!!
Returning from my early morning swim and sweaty walk in training for the city2surf I saw these Jack Fruit hanging like some pre historic monster fruit next to Gulshen Lake.  I was unsure what they were.  Later in the day returning with Chitto from the school I happened to see a man carrying one and asked Chitto about them. He was shocked I did not know what they were and that I had never eaten the Bangladesh national fruit.  He has one being delivered to his house by a friend that weights 30kg and he is going to have a jack fruit party. This will be a party to end the Jack Fruit season so I shall be tasting Jack Fruit this trip.

Rose and Grant's Driver Uzzal asked them to help him with his idea to start a sweater knitting factory. They agreed to this on the basis that their share of profits went directly to SLUM for our BrightStars.  I am pleased to report that factory is now in production. Jobs for our women was the other reason for investing. No EchoStars money in this. All money invested is personal but SLUM will receive all returns.
Ciao for now Rose
